Tiki Barber’s Coming Out of Retirement - Say what?

Rumor: Tiki Barber wants to come out of retirement and play in the NFL again.

Now, bear in mind, that Tiki has been in retirement for the past four seasons. Granted he retired at the top of his game - after having rushed for more than 1,200 yards in five consecutive seasons and winning the Super Bowl. However, one has to wonder, what makes him think he still has “it.” He’s the ripe old age of 36 years, which in RB years is quite old. Generally, I’m the eternal optimist in most situations; however, I just cannot think of how this would be a good decision. Surely, he cannot be in the same shape as when he left the game in 2006. He’s going to tarnish the Tiki we all remember and for those who played fantasy football in “those” days, the RB we all wanted on our team! Maybe this is hitting below the belt, but I personally wonder if this isn’t some ploy to get back into the limelight and good graces of folks, since his marriage scandal unfolded resulting in ultimately ending his sports commentating career. In my opinion, he needs to keep his cleats and jersey hanging in his shadow box at home. Being a Wahoo fan as a child, I love ya, Tiki, but this cannot be a good idea.

It’s Signing Day!
