New York Awarded 2014 Super Bowl

The New Meadowlands Stadium won out over Tampa today as the NFL awarded New York the 2014 Super Bowl!  New York will host what will be the first outdoor cold-weather Super Bowl. Don’t forget to pack your mittens! Sign me up!

Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine celebrated its 10th anniversary this past weekend with a “Live Your Best Life” weekend in New York City. The DeVols celebrated with Oprah at the charity walk on Sunday. We raised money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and walked in memory of my grandmother who passed away from this dreadful disease. It was said that over $120,000 was raised for the OCRF, which I think is phenomenal. Many celebrities were in attendance for the celebration: Dr Oz, Suze Orman, Jennifer Hudson, Elizabeth Banks, Cathy Black, Donna Brazile, Tracy Chapman, Bette Midler, Mary J Blige, and Gayle King. The two mile walk finished with style right in the heart of Times Square. Leave it to the one and only Oprah Winfrey to be able to shut down Times Square traffic! The celebration concluded with a brief Oprah speech to the crowd and a Jennifer Hudson ‘Happy Birthday’ serenade to O Magazine. Awesome event and good for the soul!

First, Happy Mother’s Day to the bestest mommy ever! I’m off to join Oprah & celebrate at the LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE walk for charity this AM. My charity is the Ovarian Cancer Fund. I’ve selected this in memory of my Granny Mary Nella who passed away from ovarian cancer. Miss you!
